One of greatest problems the world faces about food supply is starvation. The population has exploded from 2 billion in 1930 to 6.8 billion in 2010 (Black, 2010). This means more people to feed. According to Yuan (2000), Yuan (2000) states/believes/reports that this problem can be addressed by hybrid rice, which provides a bigger crop in the area planted The further implication is that hybrid rice can meet the food demand of China, also it can promote the hybrid rice research in other developing countries. Compared with genetically modified crop, it is safer, as it is the result of natural nurture. Therefore, more land can be saved to built houses and other infrastructure.
